Paris, New York, L.A and Miami - all in a week's work for the Australian-born, Los Angeles-based blogger and Instagram sensation Natasha Oakley. With one million followers watching her every move, and with that tanned and toned stomach - she is a global fitness inspiration. Here, she talks about her active lifestyle and staying fit whilst on the move.
Can you share your daily fitness routine and how you stay in shape?
Although I am travelling constantly, my fitness is something I incorporate into my lifestyle no matter where I am in the world. My routine varies, for example in L.A I do a lot of hiking, in Bali I do yoga and in Sydney I run the Bronte to Bondi. Whatever workout I choose I'll always work towards a 1-2 hour workout at least 4 times a week.
How do you maintain a fitness routine when you are constantly on the move?
Depending on my location I adapt to my surroundings. I like to keep things interesting, gyms bore me. I much prefer stand up paddle boarding in Hawaii or running by the Seine in Paris than sweating it out
Can you share a childhood anecdote or a family ritual that ignited
your love of good food and healthy habits?
My mother was Miss Australia and a model and was always in great shape and my father was a national surf champion so my sisters and I always had an active healthy lifestyle. I also feel as though the Australian lifestyle is one of the healthiest in the world.
Can you share five ways to positively reenergise one’s body and soul?
2. Going for a swim in the ocean.
3. A hike to the top of a mountain.
4. A drive with the windows down and music up.
5. Do something to help someone else or make someone smile.
Describe your fitness style.
Activewear style is a newfound passion of mine, it's actually becoming my obsession, second to bikinis. I love modern, simple, clean styles for a sporty chic look. I love to layer with a sweater around the waist, sports bras with T-shirts etc.
How did you put your new season Country Road Active looks
through their paces?
Working out in NYC, Paris, L.A and Miami - they are travelling the world
And lastly what is your ultimate indulgence – how do you pamper
yourself at the end of a busy week on the go?
My favorite thing in the world to do when I am at home in L.A is head to
Beverly Hot Springs Spa to soak in the hot springs, have a full body
exfoliation and massage, it is truly blissful.
