With the heat comes a need to shake things up in your wardrobe and reach for lighter fabrications in new summery styles. On my radar this season is anything off-the-shoulder. It looks fresh, stylish and shows just a little bit more skin.

The simplest of white shirts is given a fresh twist when designed off-the-shoulder. To keep things interesting, look for little details like tie-up sleeves and broderie cut-outs, which add a point of difference to an all white look. Once you have your outfit sorted, play with accessories to add a little personality. For summer I’m loving fringing and tassels, studs, shells and layered fine jewellery.
In December, I’ll be making two quick weekend getaways to Palm Beach and Byron Bay. I love packing light and spending lazy days by the beach and balmy nights out with friends. I usually live in a chic black bikini, but my other essentials are casual pieces like this off-the-shoulder dress or cotton shirt paired with white denim shorts — so easy to throw on and head out for breakfast or lunch. My favourite breakfast spots in Byron are Top Shop or Dip, and The Farm if you’re up for a short drive. I will be spending the majority of my days at The Pass or Watego’s Beach, followed by a sunset walk up to the lighthouse.
While I love going away I’ll be spending the Christmas break in Sydney with my family. We stay for a few nights at my husband’s parent's house where I get to see my niece and nephew, spend time by the pool and feed their chickens. We’ll spend the rest of our break back in the eastern suburbs relaxing by the beach at either Gordon’s Bay, Coogee, Clovelly or Bronte. My favourite local spots are mostly in Bondi — there’s nothing better than a big smoothie from Bondi Wholefoods or the classic eggs on toast from Porch and Parlour. It might be a short wait to get an outside table but a little bit of sunshine and ocean breeze makes it worthwhile.
