Meet Izi Simundic and Jonny Seelenmeyer, the gorgeous creative couple behind popular travel, food and lifestyle site, The Editorialist. Here, Izi shares a few styling tips and current obsessions.
Interview by Natasha Inchley.
We love your casual polish. Tell us about how you approach your style and how do you make a look your own.
“For me, my style always begins with really good staples – a great organic cotton tee, the perfect fitted denim jeans or a soft merino knit if the weather is cooler. When I’m dressed I like to accessorise depending on my mood, whether it be with delicate gold jewellery, a killer pair of earrings or a statement pair of shoes. In the winter months, I’ll add something structured to the equation, like a thick coat or a big woolen scarf. I like to think my style is simple and polished.”
You share a wonderful creative partnership with Jonny – not to mention a complimentary his-and-hers approach to dressing. Do you ever borrow from Jonny’s wardrobe?
“Funnily enough, we always fall in love with the same unisex pieces; we end up owning a lot of the same jumpers from Country Road. I’m always caught red-handed in one of his coats or big knits. We both have a love of relaxed fits, and pieces that remind you of summer. Loose linen shirts and anything in shades of white are our favourite.”
Please share your current favourite styling tip:
“I think the combination of denim and a great merino knit is really beautiful in the winter months, partnered with dainty jewellery and a pair of great leather loafers.”
Lastly, what is your greatest passion, what inspires you right now:
"At the moment, we are both passionate about travelling, we are currently planning a trip to Croatia to see my family. I love to horse-ride and try to go whenever we are away or have the weekend free. I am forever inspired by the places we go and the people we meet. In regards to style, I draw endless inspiration from my travels, anywhere along the Italian coast makes me feel alive.”
