The 23 year old Australian model is currently based in New York, and walked her first Victoria’s Secret runway last year and has since gained huge momentum in her career. We sat down between shots to discuss all things fashion and what she misses most about home.
Country Road: You’re only back in Australia for a short time, what are you up to while here?
Bridget Malcolm: Just work. This is an action packed trip with no time off, so I’ve been running around like crazy. I also just had my second wedding dress fitting which is exciting.
CR: What drew you to the Country Road campaign?
BM: I love the simplicity and timeless nature of Country Road’s aesthetic. It is an iconic Australian brand, and I am so honoured to be a part of the team this season.
CR: What is your can’t-live-without wardrobe staple?
BM: Striped t-shirts, in all styles and sizes.

CR: Have you worked with any of the cast before?
BM: I have worked with the hair, makeup and styling team, but none of the other models. I really enjoyed hanging out with them and getting to know them though. Working with Lachlan was amazing – he has great energy and a lovely human.
CR: What do you love most about an Australian summer and what do you miss about Australia?
BM: I miss the sun, the ocean and the people, they are very real. It’s just where I’m from. I love the idea of being on the beach each day, swimming and being surrounded by salt water and sand, you don’t get that in New York. I also miss avocado toast; it’s really hard to find in New York! They have lifted their game a little bit, they’ve kind of caught onto the awesomeness of it, but no one does it like Australia with the crunchy sourdough, lemon and chilli — it’s so good.

CR: Do you have any secret tips or beauty routines that you’ve picked up from life on set that you can share with us?
BM: Less is always more, and always remove your makeup before bed.
CR: You have such a busy schedule, and with social media everyone is always ‘on’, how do you stay grounded?
BM: I meditate daily, read a lot of books and keep in touch with my friends who have known me since I had braces and cut my own hair!
CR: Could you describe the perfect day for you?
BM: Waking up with my fiancé, getting a coffee and having breakfast down by our favourite café in South Beach. I'd like to spend the whole day at the beach eating summer fruits, surfing and swimming. Followed by an afternoon BBQ with all my friends and family watching the sunset, maybe some vegan ice-cream and then in bed by 9:00pm.

CR: When you’re short of time, what is your fail-safe exercise routine?
BM: I love jumping rope and Kayla Itsines' workouts. Or a run outside.
CR: What are you looking forward to this year? What’s next for you?
BM: I’m getting married in 6 weeks! So that's very exciting and for our honeymoon we are going to Machu Picchu and walking the Inca trail.
CR: Three words that describe you ...
BM: These are the hardest questions to answer! I think I’m quite peaceful and friendly; I like to think that anyway. Last word… hard-worker.
