"When decorating my home for Christmas I always like to stay true to my own style. Living in Byron Bay, I am a nature lover and inspired by both the Australian bush and ocean. My style for decorating and entertaining is relaxed and laid-back but always creative. The colour palette includes neutrals, deep greens and metallic gold accents. Banksia are my favourite native flower and perfect for an Australian Christmas. They look great on the table, in a vase or decorating a wreath. I love to mix old with new, I’m a collector but more and more it’s about the edit, often not adding but subtracting."
"Being a stylist I never have just a traditional tree. This year I have a found frond decorated with beautiful native banksias which makes for a modern Australian tree. I still decorate it as you would a normal Christmas tree with a few of my favourite decorations."
"Whether it’s for your front door or a decorative feature within the home, a wreath really says Christmas. I've decorated mine with banksia stems and a mix of metal and timber decorations."
"I like the table to be relaxed and not over styled. I start with a table cloth and smart napery then layer different pieces for interest. In this case I've opted for gold cutlery for a festive feel and used native foliage as a centrepiece. I love to make each place setting unique by mixing decorations with natural elements such as leaves and flowers."
"Every year I like to wrap my presents in a new way. This year I've kept the paper simple and added decorations and leaves. I'm also loving personalisation, it's the perfect finishing touch to your gifts."
"A signature drink is my secret to a great soiree. For the festive season I have made a twist on a classic and created a Pomegranate Negroni."
"Christmas lunch is super relaxed for my family and friends. We tend to feast on fresh local seafood and salads, and finish with a special desert, usually a pavlova. This year however, I wanted something a little more special, so I decided on a pineapple hummingbird cake topped with coconut cream, bright summer fruits and a few gold decorations to make it festive."
