To help us with the change of seasons, we asked Holly Titheridge and Shaun Lyle of Base Colour to share their cool weather essentials. Here, they talk us through their staples for the new season.

THE TWEED JACKET
A great choice for the start of the cooler months, the heavyweight wool is bound to keep you warm, while adding a little texture to your outfit. A tailored tweed jacket can also be a great casual option for the office.
THE TAILORED CHINO
More formal than denim and probably just as popular, the chino can be styled with just about everything. For me, finding the right chino is all about the fit. My tip is to go for a slim leg fit with a bit of stretch so they’re super comfy and easy to wear all day.
THE WOOL COAT
An obvious choice, yes, but never underestimate how much of a good thing a wool coat is. You will soon find it becoming your best friend when we hit July.
THE OXFORD SHIRT
This is the shirt that every guy should own. Defined by the fabric weave, the Oxford shirt is perfect for both casual and more formal occasions.
THE BOMBER JACKET
The bomber jacket really is the ultimate casual jacket for men, with so many different ways to wear and style it. Go for a more classic look by pairing yours with denim jeans and a pair of high military style boots.
Now this one isn't quite so obvious but I think that nothing says a great winter outfit quite like a little stripes. Whether it be a long-sleeved stripe top layered underneath a coat, or a stripe midi dress with white sneakers, I definitely see this pattern as an essential.
THE DENIM MINI
The denim mini is undoubtedly an autumn classic. Perfect for when you don’t know how the day’s weather will unfold, it works just as well with a simple shirt tucked in as it does layered under a cosy coat.
