Wellbeing expert, model and fitness It Girl, Bianca Cheah, puts Country Road's new season Active collection through its paces and shares her ultimate energy tips.
Can you share a childhood anecdote that ignited your love of good food and healthy habits?
My mum taught me how to bake – she used to replace all the ingredients for healthier options and somehow it would always taste better. My favourite is her spinach pie and her very healthy apple crumble.
At what point did you decide that wellbeing would become your life’s work?
My parents brought me up in a very healthy way, I don’t even remember the last time I sipped on a soft drink. My father is a fitness expert and, being a master in Tae Kwon Do, fitness and looking after our bodies was the norm for my sister and I. My mother also owned restaurants and health cafés all her life so I guess I’m lucky to have been exposed to this at such a young age. I'm so grateful now because it really has helped my wellbeing and my awareness of how to be good to my body.
Can you share five ways to positively reenergise one’s body and soul?
1. Practice yoga every day. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes, it’s great for the mind.
2. Always smile, you never know who needs your positive energy.
3. Do something just for you, because you deserve it.
4. Be kind to your body and fuel it with clean foods. Your body will love you right back.
5. Don’t sweat the small things in life.
Describe your workout wardrobe.
I try to stay away from patterns. I prefer comfy, stylish and chic pieces.
How did you put your new season Country Road Active looks through their paces?
I practiced what I preach and immediately did a yoga session in them.
And lastly what is your ultimate indulgence – how do you pamper yourself at the end of a busy week on the go?
I love full-body massages, warm baths with a relaxing aromatherapy oil and a good book.
