THE TWO CREATIVES STYLE OUT THEIR FAVOURITE SPRING RACING LOOKS, JUST IN TIME FOR THE LONG WEEKEND
"For me, the races are always such an exciting time of year, it kind of marks the start of summer, and all the events that roll out afterwards, so I like to get creative. I personally love coming up with a theme or a colour palette, and sticking to that when I'm sourcing and shopping for my look. Always wearing one piece that is super feminine (whether it's the shoes, or the dress) and contrasting it with something that's a little bolder and more masculine. I always love mixing the two up. My biggest tip for any race day is always wearing a pair of shoes that you're comfortable in! There's nothing worse than leaving the day barefoot, or ending up with blisters on the back of your heels."
"This is my favourite time of year; the weather starts to warm up and spring racing kicks into gear. Ive always loved going to the races and it's something I've done since I was eighteen growing up on the Gold Coast. I don't get the opportunity to wear a suit in day to day life so its always fun to get dressed up and head to the track. This time of year is perfect for wearing colour, whether it be in the shirt you're wearing, to your tie or even in the small details - like socks and pocket squares. It's a great way to have some fun."
"This is what I call comfort. Soft beige with a pop of floral. You won’t want to take this suit off. Add some fun socks to finish off the look."
"If you want a bit of edge, I love being in a two piece that creates a good silhouette. Cigarette pants, with a bold shoulder or a structured singlet (as seen here), is a look I feel most comfortable in. If it's chilly don't be scared to finish the look with a strong blazer."
"Navy blue is generally a classic colour for men’s suiting. What I really love about this suit, is the subtle check. You’d be surprised how much you can tie a look together with a floral print if you want to experiment with something different."
"This dress reminds me of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, when she's at the polo - polka dots are such a classic."
"Not your typical race day outfit but definitely something that will have you standing out in the crowd. Throw on a blazer to dress it up. "
"I like the idea of wearing a suit or a co-ord to the races, it's a classy, modern approach to the races - I also love including European hints through accessories; wearing a wedge instead of a heel."
