A prominent fixture on the Australian music scene, Alice Quiddington is one of the country's most sought-after DJs. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a fulltime career, and Alice couldn't be happier. Recently she provided the soundtrack to our summer launch event, her smooth sounds paired perfectly with our harbour-side lunch. Here, the Sydney-sider shares what summer in the city means to her.

On preparing for the festive season:
"I make sure I have lots and lots of fresh music, there are so many gigs leading up to summer and its good to be prepared so I can get through them all. I find when I have lots of great new music it keeps my energy levels up throughout the gigs. I don’t drink a lot when I’m working and I also really pick my battles over this time of year and preserve my energy for personal events and family things that are really important."
"I love cooking and I love eating so Christmas lunch is always a big foodie event in our family. Afterwards we are all in a food coma and need to roll ourselves to the couch, which is how I think it should be."
On Sydney in the summer:
"The beach culture and lifestyle in Sydney is something that is pretty unique to our city, being able to pop to the beach between jobs or have a quick swim after work is pretty special. I’ve visited places where you need to take a flight to get to the nearest beach, I’m grateful for our beautiful city and our proximity to the the harbour and beaches, it makes Sydney what it is."
On the perfect summer’s day:
"Beach days that roll into long lunches that roll into dinners. "
