To us, summer means pausing and taking time to spend with your loved ones. Justine Ilarda and her three gorgeous daughters tend to agree. Here we join the four of them for a precious day spent poolside, where we chat to Justine about what the girls have taught her along the way.

Describe your girl gang, how do all the personalities work together?
"Olivia the oldest one is the carefree one. She takes life as it comes and always seems to have a smile on her face. She is very intuitive and shows a lot of common sense in every aspect. She would also never clean her room if she has the choice haha!"
"Adele loves her routine and is a little less care free. Lucky for Olivia she is more than happy to tidy their shared room or make both of their beds first thing in the morning. She also really benefits from Olivia’s common sense and she is lucky to have a big sister who looks out for her. Adele is also the brave one who loves a good chat. And well Penelope is definitely Boss Baby. She has two mother hens who love and adore her cheeky little personality."
What have they taught you along the way?
"I think this quote from Robert Brault has to be my favourite, "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." My girls have taught me to slow down and embrace life with them, and all the little things that really make the bigger things. Slow down and enjoy every minute before this beautiful season of life is over."
>What is your favourite thing to do together in summer?
"We all love a good beach day. Our favourite day would have to be starting the day at the beach and ending it at the beach. With time at home in between for a nap of course. We love having breakfast on the beach and then swimming until lunchtime. We go home for lunch and a nap for Penelope, and then head back to the beach for the afternoon ending with fish and chips on the sand. Nothing is better than summer!"
What is your family’s approach to style?
"We are definitely a comfort family and I think the girls take after me as my favourite thing to wear are jeans or a cute pair of shorts and a comfortable linen t-shirt."
