We make it a priority to support
the people within our community.
At Country Road, we care about the people who bring our designs to life regardless of where they are in the world. Whether they are cotton farmers, garment workers or retail staff, they are all integral to our brand and key to our success. Without their valuable skills and input we wouldn’t be able to bring you the beautiful products you know and love.
As a leading lifestyle brand, we recognise our responsibility to ensure high social standards are upheld throughout our supply chain. These standards align with the International Labour Organisation Conventions as well as the Ethical Trade Initiative base code.
We are deeply committed to improving the lives of all workers throughout our supply chain and strongly support the payment of a fair living wage. We actively assess wages paid by our suppliers against relevant living wage standards and are working with our contracted factories to ensure payment of an acceptable living wage. We also support suppliers who provide additional services and benefits to their workers including: nutritious food, medical, educational and child support services.
Country Road is a proud signatory of the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh.

This year we celebrate ten years of partnership with Redkite, an Australian charity that provides essential support to children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer, and their families.
Each year at head office, we pack and donate Redkite Red Bags to give to families at the time of their child’s diagnosis. These bags are full of practical items, such as toiletries, reusable coffee cups, vital information about support services and a teddy bear to cuddle.

The Window Project
Investing in the future of our industry, we make it a priority to support and mentor young local talent. The Window Project is a collaboration between Country Road and RMIT University. Each year Country Road gives a group of visual merchandising students the opportunity to design a window display in one of their stores and mentor them throughout the process from beginning to completion. We then offer one student a grad year position within our Visual Merchandising team.

As part of our collaboration with Red Cross, our customers are rewarded with a $10 gift voucher for every pre-loved Country Road item they donate, helping the community and saving clothes from landfill.
Country Road has partnered with the Australian Red Cross on Fashion Trade since 2011. Since the program’s launch, Red Cross Shops have received over 200,000 items of pre-loved Country Road items from brand and customer donations, which may have otherwise ended up in landfill.

The Plant Society
Jason and Nathan created The Plant Society as a way to nurture a love of plants, design and community. Their ethos is simple: celebrate plants and all things green, and in turn establish a knowledge bank of skills and techniques.
During our Christmas trading period, customers were able to visit our South Yarra store to experience The Plant Society’s gorgeous store and purchase on of their plants themselves. We also held in-store workshops with Jason and Nathan on how to care for indoor plants.
